1790's - Earliest known Herefordshire records

(1742 - 1819)
1868 - Woolhope Field Naturalists Club members were
invited by Dr. Henry Graves Bull to "Foray among the
Funguses" - the archetype of all subsequent fungus
forays - and the beginning of 24 years of fungus
recording in Herefordshire. These forays were attended
by many of the eminent mycologists of the day, from
home and abroad.
1896 - Inauguration of the British Mycological
Society - inspired by the Woolhope Club
forays).
1998 - Start of the Herefordshire Fungus
Survey Group.
